Hello everyone! Today i decided to review the Makeup Revolution Renaissance Glow palette. I bought this before going on holiday, and in all honestly it was an impulse buy. I went to Vickys cosmetics to get a lip pencil sharpener and somehow i walked out with a body wash, 2 lipliners and a contour palette, strange innit…not really, ha!
So as soon as i saw the modern renaissance palette i knew i had to have it, i mean look at the packaging of the product, its so cute. Im a huge fan of vintage cic and this palette totally goes with my aesthetic. Yeah sue me i’m basic!
The inside of this palette is an exact copy of Charlotte Tilbury’s contour and highlight kit, which i don’t mind but it kind of makes a hole in the “innovation for the generation”. Another example of that is Facebook copying snapchat, but we’re not talking about that here, but you get my point, don’t you? 🙂
As for the quality, the palette is BOMB. I have never been disappointed with makeup revolution products, quality wise they always deliver. I dint like their packaging when they first came out, but they have completely redesigned their whole look (mostly by copying other higher end brands) but i’m not complaining. Actually I’m a little angry because why are we paying so much money for the higher end brands when we’re getting quality and cute packing on the cheap. WAKEUP People!
So coming back to the post, i really like the highlighter in the palette, it gives me the most gorgeous glow. Its a soft golden color, so very good for everyday wear. I give it a 4.5 out of 5.
The contour, i would give a 4 out of 5 just because i feel that it could have been better. It is very pigmented when you swatch it on your hand but once you blend it, it starts to lighten a lot and hence it leads me to reapplying another layer till i get a nice contour. But if you’re working towards achieving a natural look, then one swipe and you’re good, so thumbs up all the way.
Price wise, this palette is a total bargain. And the best part is that it is available locally so you can get your hands on it pretty easily. I know for a fact that Daraz.pk stock Makeup Revolution. I got mine from Vicky’s Cosmetics at Khadda Market.
Ive used this in my latest Youtube video check it out:
