Hello everyone! i haven’t done a foundation review on my site for the longest time, primary reason being i don’t experiment much with foundations, i stick to what works for me and use it till the death of it!
I’ve been using one particular foundation for years now and i’ve just realized that i NEVER posted a review on it.
I bought the Cover Girl Outlast Stay Fabulous Foundation two years back, and i bought it solely because everyone on Youtube was raving about it so i decided to see for myself. I’ll be honest when i first bought the foundation i did not love it, it was very average for me and i was like “meh”
Backstory: at that point my skin was really oily and liquid foundations just dint work as they ended up looking like a greasy hot mess which made my face look like a frying pan, YUCK i know!
Over the passage of time my skin has calmed down and it is now more combination all year round except for summers mainly because i live in a very humid city.
I have been using the Cover girl outlast stay fabulous foundation every single day for the past 1 year and now i just can’t imagine my life without it, I use the shade 825 Buff beige (my skin tone is neutral and i match NC20 for mac – so i hope this info helps). I feel covergirl has come a long way in terms of foundation shades, but ive heard from some poeple that they still can’t find a good match for skin tones with yellow undertones, so i guess you have to be super sure of your skin color to get this foundation online, Foundation.com is a good site to get a slight idea of what color might actually go with your skin tone.
As for the foundation here is what the brand says:
“Outlast All-Day 3-in-1 Foundation makeup fuses primer, concealer, and foundation in one easy step! This 3-in-1 formula provides a flawless look that lasts all day.
Here is what i think:
For me personally i don’t think its a 3 in 1 foundation because i get red spots on my skin and this foundation does not cover them completely as it has natural to medium coverage, which i’m all about as its very light weight, but i do have to use a concealer on my spots for them to stay hidden throughout the day. On days when i don’t use concealer i can see that the foundation disappears from problem areas and spots start peeking through.
If you have oily skin – DO NOT skip primer with this one as it will break down and your face will look greasy, using a good primer underneath will keep this foundation looking fresh all day long!
I really like the fact that the product comes with a pump and a little goes a long way, at least thats how i like to use it anyway. I take a pea sized amount on my finger and spot it all over my face, i blend using a face brush and it gives me a very natural finish.
The longevity is very decent for a drugstore foundation, i work 12 hour shifts daily and this thing looks good till day end, it does disappear in areas where i get oily like my T -zone but other areas look bomb. A lot of people have asked me what foundation i use because it looks so natural and stays on for so long, so thats saying something about the quality of the product.
If you have super oily skin i would recommend using a good water based primer for this to last all day, as for acne i definitely recommend using a heavy duty concealer. This foundation has never broken me out which for me is a God send as i have super sensitive skin. Usually liquid foundation clog pores and congest the skin but for me i haven’t noticed any of those with this product.
I do feel its a bit pricy for a drugstore foundation, but compared to higher end foundations its a total steal!
