Hello everyone! so i’ve been watching a lot of movies these days, because my site was down for a while i decided the only way i would stay sane during that period was to indulge myself in reading books or watching quality movies. I found some really good quality movies which i feel aren’t as popular but are a must watch, especially if you’re someone who enjoys watching romantic movies.
- Last Night:
Stars: Kiera Knightly, Eva Mendes, Sam Worthington, Guillaume Canet
If you’re into movies that are shot beautifully and have a very romantic feel to them then you’ll love Last Night. Or if you’re a Kiera Knightly fan then i bet you’ll love this movie. The story revolves around a married couple who spend the night part, the husband goes off to a meeting in another city with his coworkers one of which is an attra
ctive woman who is into the guy. Meanwhile back home the woman meets her ex boyfriend who still might have feelings for her! The movie is great, it keeps you guessing from start to end. I love the soundtrack of the movie, and i bet people who enjoy piano playing in the background will enjoy the music as well. I really like how the movie is filmed, its effortlessly captivating and i feel is a must watch.
Stars: Saoirse Ronan, Emory Cohen, Domhnall Gleeson
Brooklyn is a period drama/romantic movie, i really like movies set in the early 1900s, it just makes the movie more enjoyable. The story revolves around an Irish girl who is fe up of living in a small town and decides to move to Brooklyn New York back the 1950s. The movie is shot so beautifully, i love this style of filming it gives the movie so much life and it just feels like art coming to life. All the actors in the movie played out the characters beautifully and i have to say i wish the fashion from the 50’s comes back because love it!
- Very Good Girls
Stars: Dakota Fanning, Elizabeth Olsen, Boyd Holbrook, Demi Moore
Very good girls is a very good movie but is highly underrated, i never see it on any lists recommending movies to watch, but i feel is one of those movies where you know whats going to happen but you watch it any way and enjoy yourself as well. Again the film is beautifully shot, it stars Dakota Fanning and Elizabeth Olsen and revolves around the friendship of these two girls who are growing up and trying to keep up with the changing circumstances of life.
- Far From The Madding Crowd
Stars: Carey Mulligan, Matthias Schoenaerts, Michael Sheen, Tom Sturridge
Another period romantic movie that is a must watch is; Far from the mating crowd based on Tomas Hardy’s mega popular novel. Now I’m sure some of you might have read the novel and if you have then watching the movie is a must watch. Even if you haven’t read the novel i feel if you’re a romantic movie fan in general you will enjoy this movie a lot. The story follows a strong driven women who meets three very different suitors, one is a very shy but charming sweetheart of a man (which in real life don’t exist) who works as a shepherd, a strong gallant soldier and an older rich man who is madly in love with her. It is an amazing story and is shot beautifully. A must watch
- Testament of Youth
Stars: Kit Harrington, Alicia Vikander, Tangon Egerton
Based on the memoir published under the same name written by Vera Britain, the movie portrays the events the author went through and how her life and the lives of everyone around her changed due to World War I. The story is a very sad one, it is hopelessly depressing and you will feel your eyes constantly watering and throat tightening whilst watching the film. I feel like i cried more because of the fact that this story is real and has happened in real life.
The movie is filmed beautifully, i feel like it is exactly how one would picture it whilst reading the memoir. It is one of those movies which has a very lasting effect on you, i was up watching this till 4 am and i could not sleep afterwords because my mind was racing, so i wouldn’t recommend you watcing it late night but it is a great movie to watch on warm cozy night in.
Hope you liked my list!
