Hello everyone! so i recently made kitkat cake, now I’m no chef but i do like to bake and cook occasionally when i feel adventurous. Im a high kitkat fan, its my favorite chocolate ever and i can eat truck loads of it in sitting but sadly that would be fatal.
I love baking and i thought to try out the kitkat cake but i wasn’t up for the hassle and dint want to spend hours in the kitchen so i decided to take the easy route to kitkat heaven.
Here is my recipe, short and simple but amazingly delish!
For the cake:
- Betty Croker cake mix (super moist chocolate fudge)
- 3 eggs
- vegetable oil
For the frosting
- 2 x 200g pkts dark cooking chocolate, finely chopped
- 125ml (1/2 cup) thickened cream
- 2 x 170g blocks Kit Kat milk chocolate
- 45g pkt Kit Kat milk chocolate, broken into pieces, halved lengthways
- 140g maltesers
Preheat oven to 180 degree celsius 15 minutes before baking.
Bake the betty broker cake mix following the instructions written on the packet. I made a layered cake so i baked the mixture in two separate pans of equal size
For the frosting
I chopped up the dark chocolate in a bowl into small pieces that would melt easily. I then melted the chocolate in the microwave. Once all chunks were melted i add the cream in with the chocolate and set it aside for an hour to thicken.
Once the cake was done i ;et it cool down for 15 minutes. Then i took the bottom layer and place it on the serving dish, i layered on my chocolate mixture on the cake layer and the put small pieces of kit kat chocolate. Once kit kat pieces were placed on the bottom layer, i placed the second layer of cake and icing the frosting on generously. I then decorated my cake with kit kat chunks and maltesers .
WAHLAH kit kat cake ready to serve!
