Hello everybody! i bought the Tarte Poppy Picnic Palette back in June and I’ve used it non stop ever since i got it, but sadly i never reviewed it, and now that there so many new Tarte palettes out i’ve thought to post a review, well done Anushae!
Moving on, the reason why i bought this platte was because of the packaging, lets be honest thats how they get us, these brands! The platte is beautiful to look at, but thats obviously not why i love it.
I had used a few tarte stuff before delving in another product by the brand and i was pleasantly surprised, i took this wth me on holiday during the summer and it was the only palette i used the whole trip and i feel i dint feel the need to get more colors for my eyes. It was sufficient during the day as well as the night time for me. The palette comes with 6 eye shadows and all of them are matte to semi matte. It also comes with a coral blush which has a hint of sheen to it so it gives a nice sheeny finish on the cheeks.
A great thing about the colors are that they are usable without a primer, a lot of lighter shades generally don’t have the most amazing color payoff but the ones in this platte are quite good in terms of color payoff.
The blush Glisten is described as a “golden peach pink.” It’s a pink-coral with golden shimmer and a frosted finish. It has a slight sheen to it so you can definitely use a highlighter on top and it won’t make you look like a drag queen. Unless of course thats the look you’re going for!
The palette came out during the spring time so the eye shadow colors are quite springy however i feel these are pretty good colors that can be used all year round especially the pink one which i love to use as a transition color, i know that sounds scary but trust me, once its all blended out it looks beautiful and compliments the brown shades which the palette has a variety of. I like using the milky brown color on my crease area i feel it gives great depth and dimension to the whole look. I love the fact that all the colors compliment each other.
here is a list of all the eye shadow colors included in the palette;
Summer Breeze is a “cream.” It’s a light, yellowed beige with a matte finish
Sweet Tea is a “tan.” It’s a muted, medium-dark brown with warm, yellow undertones and a matte finish.
Ice Cream Cone is a “chocolate.” It’s a blackened brown with cool undertones and a matte finish.
Barefoot in the Grass is a “nude.” It’s a light-medium peach with strong, orange undertones and a matte finish.
Peach Poppy is a “peach.” It’s a softened orange with a matte finish
Picnic Basket is a “brown.” It’s a dark brown with warm, yellow undertones and a matte finish.
The palette was sadly a limited addition palette but i hunted it down on Amazon, so if you are interested hope its helps 🙂
